JOB SUMMARY

El Super seeks an experienced Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to report, manage and resolve a wide variety of claims for its 7,500 employees.

In this fast-moving role, you will manage certain cases from incident to resolution. You will join our Risk Department at our offices in Paramount, CA and will receive a competitive salary and benefits package while working with a group of fun and motivated Risk professionals.

This individual will embrace the challenges of change and be responsible for effectively monitoring cases with the objective of closing each quickly and cost effectively.

The Adjuster will be responsible to develop professional external and internal relationships including company leadership, vendors and third-party administrators.

Job Accountabilities:

  • The claims adjuster will have the primary responsibility for tasks relating processing claims and entering detailed information into our systems
  • Help facilitate an aggressive return to work program
  • Work with the team to rapid close claims
  • Responsible for immediate and 24-hour contact of injured workers and following up
  • Answer and initiate telephone calls, set-up medical appointments, store communication
  • Actively manage internal data collection and coordination of witnesses, etc.
  • Own and lead first aid claims documentation, appointments and closure
  • Regularly advise supervisor on the status of claims
  • Follow up with clinics to obtain information, preparation of payments
  • Achieve effective relationships with TPA, external and internal teams
  • Exercise excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Manage modified work, permanent disability and interactive (IP) processes
  • Display a willingness to learn multi-state workers’ compensation laws and regulations
  • Job Qualifications/About you:

  • 2 years of experience specifically in WC, preferably as a claim’s assistant or adjuster
  • Compassionate customer service and communication skills
  • Willingness to work with purpose and a strong sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of injuries, medical terminology and treatment activities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills, ability to enter reports into claims management systems
  • Written and oral fluency in English and Spanish is required
