Responsibilities

Consultants support project teams both at client sites and internally. Responsibilities will include client management, solution implementation and generation of project results. As a consultant, a key function of your role will be to create and present quality deliverables that support essential project workstreams. You will gather and analyze data, identify gaps and trends, and make recommendations related to baseline performance and structure, as well as established best practices and benchmarks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting workstreams that enable the assessment, development, and enhancement of business strategies, operating plans, business processes, organizational structures, and supporting infrastructure for clients.
  • Applying knowledge of the energy and utility sector to support the design of client deliverables.
  • Applying technical competencies in areas such as Lean process improvement and project management “on the ground” with clients.
  • Supporting high-level client interviews and facilitating engagement with key project stakeholders to gather information and build support for projects.
  • Designing and building client deliverables, working closely with both Navigant and client peers.
  • Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations.
  • Performing data collection & analysis and statistical & economic analyses in support of project objectives.
  • Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis in energy market trends and related areas to further support delivery.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree awarded no later than April 2019 in an engineering, science, business and/or economics discipline.
  • 1+ year of experience as a consultant or management consultant to include experience working directly with clients.
  • Risk, Compliance or Security (Physical or Cyber) experience in a regulated industry covering any of the following: banking transaction, telecommunication signal & data protections, utility reliability functions, federal transportation compliance. Related work experience in the Departments of Homeland Security and Defense may be considered.
  • Project coordination or management and support experience.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a high degree of self-confidence and determination.
  • Ability to travel is required.
  • Must possess current work authorization in the United States without sponsorship from Guidehouse currently or in the future at time of application.
  • Preferred Qualification

    In addition to the above listed requirements:

  • Masters degree awarded no later than April 2019 in an engineering, science, business and/or economics discipline; Combinations of engineering and business ideal.
  • 1+ years electrical or electrical reliability compliance experience within the Bulk Electric System (BES).
  • NERC Physical or Cyber security experience or similar
  • Demonstrated understanding in the following areas:Bulk Electric System (BES) and power systems.Electrical Reliability.NERC/FERC Enforcement.Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards (CIP).CIP related Cyber Security.CIP related Physical Security.NERC related O&P or 693
